Meet your Attorney Jacqueline Spence

Jacqueline L. Spence was born and raised in Queens, New York and graduated from Bayside High School. She attended Pennsylvania State University where she earned a degree in Psychology (B.A.S., 2006).  When she was a senior in college her family relocated to Florida. She followed her family and relocated to Florida shortly after graduation.

After a year of working for a South Florida law firm she was inspired to change the industry and vowed to never be like the attorneys she worked for. She took her first step and was admitted to Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While attending Thomas Cooley, she was ranked among the top five advocates of her class.  To be closer to family and establish her legal roots in Florida she transferred to Nova Southeastern University to complete law school (J.S., December 2010). While attending Nova Southeastern University she focused on trial skills. As a 2L she interned at the Broward County Public Defender's Office, homicide division. As a 3L she became a certified legal intern at the Broward County State Attorney's Office in misdemeanors. As a certified legal intern, she gained extensive trial experience. After her internship she became a judicial intern to the Honorable Joel Lazarus prior to graduation in December, 2010.

Upon being admitted to the Florida Bar (April 2011) she obtained a position at a boutique employment law firm in Palm Beach County. In 2012 she became a Certified Family Law Mediator. In 2013 she obtained a position as a General Practice Attorney, handling a variety of cases. It was during her employment with other firms that she learned what she wanted to change about the legal industry and realized how many people are in need of affordable, quality representation.

After having her son in June of 2015 she set out on her mission to help people obtain affordable legal services and opened the Affordable Law Center in 2016.  As a working mom, she is here to help the working class and to make hiring an attorney something everyone can do

"When you are faced with a situation where you think you need a lawyer but then think there is no way you can afford a lawyer, so you think you might as well just do it yourself - stop. You can afford a lawyer. Do you perform your own root canal because you cannot afford a dentist? No, you do not that is what the dentist is for. Do you fight a blazing fire because you think you are able to do so? No, you do not, that is what the fire department is for. Do you do to court without a lawyer? No, that is what a lawyer does. And now you can afford a lawyer. This is your life, your chance to be heard, your chance to fight, your chance to get what you want, your chance for justice. Do it right, and I am here to help you,"  Jacqueline Spence, Esquire.

Jacqueline believes that with faith and hard work she can help more people with their legal issues.

Meet your Paralegal, Linney

Linney was born in New Jersey. She relocated to Palm Beach in 2007. In 2009 she relocated to Tennesse where she completed her education until her return here to Palm Beach County in 2017.  Upon her return to Palm Beach County, she worked in a large litigation firm that serviced the entire state of Florida. Linney was looking for a smaller, family oriented firm and the Affordable Law Center was blessed to add Linney to the team in February of 2019. Linney is committed to helping people. She enjoys a challenge and likes the fast pace of a small firm handling a wide variety of cases. She strives for client satisfaction. When Linney is not working, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, which includes her supportive Husband and two cats.

Meet Alexandria, our office/billing manager

Alexandria has a Bachelors Degree from FAU and a Masters Degree in Science and Pharmacy from the University of Florida.  She spent years working at a family law firm prior to having her son. After working for 9 years in family law she took a break after having her first son. After a year of raising her son, she was ready to return to work. Alexandria joined the Affordable Law Center in 2017. In 2018, Alexandria had her second son. She then decided to dedicate herself to raising her boys and when she finds the time, she handles our office billing. In her free time, whenever that may be, she enjoys sewing and spending time with her family.

Meet your legal secretary Amanda

Amanda is a Florida native. She graduated from FAU in 2018 with a Bachelors Degree. She desires to become an attorney and is in the process of applying to law school. Amanda joined the Affordable Law Center in 2018 and when she is not in the office she is in the courtroom with the attorney to support the client. Amanda enjoys caring for horses.
