Meet Jacqueline Spence
Jacqueline L. Spence was born and raised in Queens, New York and graduated from Bayside High School. She attended Pennsylvania State University where she earned a degree in Psychology (B.A.S., 2006). When she was a senior in college her family relocated to Florida. Despite her deep NY roots, she followed her family and relocated to Florida shortly after graduation.
After a year of working for a law firm she was inspired to change the industry and vowed to never be like the attorneys she worked for. She took her first step and was admitted to Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While attending Thomas Cooley, she was ranked among the top five advocates. To be closer to family and establish her legal roots she transferred to Nova Southeastern University to complete law school (J.S., December 2010). While attending Nova Southeastern University, she focused on trial advocacy and became a certified legal intern at the State Attorney's Office in Broward County.
As a certified legal intern, she participated in numerous criminal trials. After her internship she became a judicial intern prior to graduation in December, 2010. Upon being admitted to the Florida Bar (April 2011), she obtained obtained a position at a boutique employment law firm in Palm Beach County. Wanting to enter into a more challenging field and help people through more difficult situations, she became a certified family law mediator (2012), where she could utilize her ability to reach creative resolutions for each family as a neutral family law mediator.
It was during her employment with other firms that she learned what she wanted to change about the legal industry and realized how many people are in need of affordable, quality representation.
After having her son in June of 2015 she set out on her mission to help people obtain affordable legal services and opened the Affordable Law Center in 2016.
As a working mom, she is here to help the working class and to make hiring an attorney something everyone can do.
